The Hamlin Morton Walker Fire District was dispatched automatic mutual aide to the Brockport Fire District for the reported basement fire. Hamlin 2413 responded with Lt Magovero, Lt Thompson and a total crew of 6. Chief Smith responded to the scene.
Hamlin Chief Smith went on location with light smoke showing from the residence. After investigating Chief Smith reported he had a basement fire and the first in engine would be stretching a line. Brockport's first engine stretched a line and knocked down the bulk of the fire. On arrival of 2413 the crew was tasked with going to the first floor and checking for extension. 2413 crew pulled the floor up and part of the wall to find charring and a small fire. This was quickly contained with the help of the 234 crew.
After all hot spots where controlled in the residence, Hamlin was released from the scene and the house was turned over to the homeowner and the local Fire Marshall. The entire incident lasted approx. 2 hours from initial dispatch to the last fire unit was in service.
During the incident Morton 2425 provided a fill in to Brockport Station 1. Walker was dispatched for a fill in but could not secure a crew so Spencerport was released from the scene to fill in at Brockport Station 1.
