After the interview your applications will be presented to Fire Department body for approval for probationary membership. The applicant is then required for approval for probationary status by the board of Fire Commissioners. Shortly after that the applicant will be contacted by one of our line officers to get started. You will need to complete a psychical for exterior firefighter and be fit tested to wear SCBA. All new members start as probationary firefighters. The probationary period lasts 6 months.
